DDP will run again to secure DDP's identity and restore its publicity by becoming a design platform that is welcomed by the design world
business districts, and citizens. DDP will design the future by sharing creative content globally for Seoul's future growth.
DDP will become the driving force that enhances Seoul's design competitiveness
by nurturing the fushion of future-oriented content that combines "media" and "tech" within design.
DDP, the largest 3D amorphous structure in the world is an aggregation of Korea’s state-of-the-art architectural methods.
With 45,133 individual exterior panels all constructed and installed, and not a single flat wall inside or outside the building.
Designed by Zaha Hadid, DDP was design as if flowing like water, unlike other buildings with defined edges.
The ceiling could be the wall, and the wall could be the ceiling; this area and that area are not differentiated.
The open spaces are like sceneries, where all the spaces are interconnected, following along each others lines.

The core platform that shares the value of design to the world
The DDP Design Museum is registered as a first-class public art museum under Seoul's registered art museum no.29020-01. Being registered as Korea’s only public art museum will be a major turning point for DDP in becoming the source of creative resources by discovering, researching and exhibiting Korea’s design values and portraying contemporary global design content.
A space for Seoul's elegance in daily life
The DDP Design Store is a business operated by the Seoul Design Foundation that discovers excellent design products and supports marketing and promotion to designers through offline and online platforms. For the purpose of expanding Seoul’s design excellence and the establishment of DDP Design Store's international recognition, we are rediscovering Seoul’s lifestyle values and establishing its identity through design.
A space for contact-free events
Seoul ON is a space for video conferences and contact-free events, which increased due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is equipped with extra large display and high resolution video devices, the latest sound and lighting equipment, and as an annexed facility, has a VIP waiting room, locker room, interpretation room, and lounge. It is a space not just for video conferences but a variety of online and offline events such as talk shows, forums and lectures.
Through citizens' participation, capture the healing and comforting effects of design
Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), Seoul’s representative building, normally reveals its existence through its unique silver color. But at night, the curved silver surface becomes a canvas. SeouLight, with its overwhelming scale and dynamism, has gone global and is now catching the attention of the world. DDP is growing as a cultural asset of Seoul and playing a role in vitalizing local and national economy with Dongdaemun at its center.
