□ In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Children’s Day on May 5, Seoul Design Foundation cordially invites all parents who wish to offer a special experience to their children to DDP near Dongdaemun Gate. Families on outings can watch movies and listen to DJ performances on the grass lawn outdoors and browse design products at the market while enjoying the sightings of large-scale bear balloons as tall as a four-story-high building all over DDP.

□ The large-scale bear balloons installed in DDP are created by pop artist Im Ji-bin, who is best-known for “Everywhere Project,” his artwork that turns ordinary spaces into art galleries targeting random people as the audience. Reflecting the artist’s sense of humor, this type of guerilla art in public places expresses the desire of the artist to make his audience observe unusual phenomena within the familiar urban scape. There will be many photo zones where visitors can take memorable photos in celebration of Children’s Day.

○ During the event period, the guerilla art series “Everywhere Project” is presented under the exhibition title ”Space in Love.” Visitors can have fun finding bear balloons hidden here and there in DDP.

○ The Children’s Day program also includes a stamp tour designed for visitors to view recommended places around the DDP. Participants who complete the tour can receive special DDP gifts produced in collaboration with artist Im Ji-bin.

□ Alongside the installation of the large-scale bear balloon project, Dongdaemun Design Plaza or DDP, operated by Seoul Design Foundation under the helm of President Rhee Kyung-Don, offers “DDP Design Playground” for children from May 5 to 15.

○ “DDP Design Playground” is the first outdoor event in two years after the social distancing policy is lifted. Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Children’s Day, DDP offers various programs for children all over DDP.

○ During daytime, the grass hill in DDP turns into a perfect space for a picnic. With the Pinkfong animation series playing and LP deejays’ live gigs, the already great picnic in DDP only gets better.
